Orientations for ACTIVE Get a Grippers are being held August 19 - 22 at 4:30PM, 5:30PM and 6:30PM. Please call Peggy at (951) 870-3109 or our new office number at (951) 737-9020 to reserve a time. Voice Mail reservations will not be accepted as you must speak to her. You will need to attend with your child/children whom are in the program. In addition, you will be required to bring a copy of their most recent report cards.
Also, Get a Grip's NEW office number is (951) 737-9020. Please make note of this as it will become our PRIMARY phone mumber in a few short weeks.

April 2nd, the city council voted 3 to 2 in favor of the foundation’s conditional use permit and site plan. This allows us to begin the process of opening our new center. The pre-fabricated 4300 square foot modular is built and ready to come on site by April 18th, the Norco building department will expedite the permit and we have hired a terrific General Contractor to lead our contracting team across the goal line. The lord’s timing is “never late seldom early” with that in mind we are predicting that the center will be ready to open by the end of May end. This will allow Mike Davis and his tutoring team the time to work hard with your children to get them ready for finals.

GET A GRIP IS NOT CANCELLED
A recent newspaper headline written in the Press
Enterprise has led people to believe that the Get a Grip program has been cancelled.
The article was speaking of our outreach program, but not our daily program
that we have with your children. We understand how the article, particularly
the headline, may have been easy to misunderstand, but please know that we are
continuing with our golf clinics just as we have been. We continue to appreciate
the support that you have given us by writing the city council members (and
voicing your positive views of the Get a Grip Foundation and our need of an
education center) of the city of Norco and look forward to having your support
at the City Council Meeting on April 2nd.

The following information changes apply
immediately. You will be notified of any further changes as we approach the
opening of the education center.
.• CALL-IN RESERVATIONS FOR GOLF CLINICS
o In order to have a spot reserved for a golf clinic, parents of participants
must call-in (951-870-3109) after 12pm and request the desired clinic time.
• GOLF CLASS TIMES: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (page 3 of packet)
(All clinics will be open and filled on a first call-first served basis)
o 330pm, 440pm, and 545pm
o All participants (that have called in to reserve a class time) must be ready
to begin 10 minutes prior to class time.
• Tardy participants WILL NOT be allowed to participate in the golf clinic.
• Clinics will last between 50 minutes and 1 hour for each class time.
Please be prompt when picking up your child because all instructors will be
setting up for the following clinic and will not be able to supervise your child
when the next clinic begins.
• In the event of inclement weather, please call 951-870-3109 after 12pm
to find out whether or not we will be open for golf clinics.
• Children with incomplete packets will not be allowed to participate
in a golf clinic until missing information is completed.
• Disciplinary issues will be handled by the use of verbal/written warnings
and/or suspension from the program. Get a Grip staff will decide what disciplinary
action is appropriate.

Get a Grip Foundation is currently looking for CERTIFIED Golf Instructors to
teach children ages 7-17 the game of golf. We're looking for enthusiastic golf
instructors who enjoy working with children to develop the fundamentals of golf.

The Southern California Golf Association Foundation, along with
the Southern California PGA and the San Diego Junior Golf Association, are pleased
to invite you to attend one of the Sixth Annual Southern California Junior Golf
Summits. These educational seminars are specifically designed for parents and
their junior golfers to learn about current programs as well as opportunities
to play in college. Speakers include current and former college players, college
coaches, the SCPGA, the SDJGA, and others. This year a golf fitness trainer
will also be available to discuss specific training methods for golf that will
help juniors take their game to the next level. There is no cost to attend,
but space is limited.
The San Diego Summit will be from 6:30 to 8:30 on Monday, February 25th at Riverwalk
Golf Course.
The Los Angeles Summit will be from 6:30 to 8:30 on Wednesday, February 27th
at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.
